The NEET (UG) 2026 bulletin asks for a recent passport-size photo, taken on or after 1 January 2026, as a JPG/JPEG between 10 KB and 200 KB. It can be in colour or black and white, on a white background, with your face (no mask, ears visible) taking up about 80% of the image.

NTA does not give a pixel size, so this tool uses 350 x 450 pixels, a passport shape, and keeps the file within 10 to 200 KB. Zoom in so your face fills most of the frame.

You also capture a live photo in the form, which is matched against your Aadhaar photo, and you upload left and right hand finger and thumb impressions. NTA asks you to keep 6 to 8 passport-size and 4 to 6 postcard-size (4 x 6 inch) prints of the same photo, because it is pasted on the attendance sheet and used again at counselling and admission.

Common reasons this photo is rejected

Face too small. About 80% of the image should be your face, with ears visible.
A photo taken before 1 January 2026.

A mask, or a background that is not white.

Can I correct my NEET photo later?

No. The bulletin says the facility for correction will not be given, so upload the right photo the first time.

Can the NEET photo be black and white?

Yes. The 2026 bulletin allows colour or black and white, on a white background.

What if my live photo does not match my Aadhaar photo?

NTA then asks for a signed and attested certificate with a recent photo certified by your school or college principal or headmaster, or attested by a Class-I gazetted officer (Annexure-VI of the bulletin).

Is my photo uploaded to a server?
